Freedom Township Municipality

Freedom Township is located in southern Blair County, and is surrounded by Juniata Township, Greenfield Township, Taylor Township, and Blair Township.  Freedom Township occupies 17.4 square miles of land and is home to nearly 3,500 people. The township is highly rural, consisting mainly of forests and farmland. However, the township is experiencing some development along the I-99 corridor in its eastern half.

Several watersheds, including South Poplar Run, Poplar Run, and small sections of Halter Creek and Blair Gap Run pass through Freedom Township. Residents and visitors frequently take advantage of the many outdoor recreational opportunities that the nearby watersheds watershed provide to the community.
