The Blair County Conservation District, which serves residents of Blair County under the direction of their 7-member Board of Directors, who are local citizens appointed by the Blair County Commissioners. The District is Blair County’s “One Stop Shop for Resource Conservation since 1966”.
The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, a regional non-profit that brings together individuals, organizations, businesses and governments to find collaborative solutions, to build a strong commitment to stewardship, and to deliver innovative, broadly-supported programs that benefit the land, waters, and residents of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, a national organization that supports conservation efforts in all 50 states, and which generously funded the development of this website.

The Blair County MS4 Work Group, which consists of municipal and regional partners and engineering firms involved with local stormwater goals, formed in 2012 to share municipal resources, insight, and advice to help achieve water quality goals in a collaborative way.
The Blair County Planning Commission, which was was created on May 6, 1964 as a result of petitions by the twenty-four (24) municipalities of Blair County. Its purpose is to provide areawide comprehensive planning for Blair County (Altoona MSA), as well as to perform planning-related activities as required by federal and state law and by rules and regulations.
Blair County Trained Practitioners:
Since 2013, the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay has brought regional stormwater and watershed experts together and has offered training to Blair County practitioners. Through a series of workshops, local practitioners learned about innovative stormwater best management practices and green infrastructure, which offer several environmental and community benefits.
